Everything seems to have power running through it when i check the lines with my voltalert device but when I try the outlets, the light i plug into it does not work, the range hood will not turn on and the light fixture will not turn. The oven is now removed, but i used that site and ran lines to 2 outlets (one for a new gas oven) and a new range hood. I live in a duplex and have checked out how the wiring was done on the other floor of my building and it is identical except for the electric line that lead to an oven I removed (house if from 1970ish). So my problem is I have a light fixture for my kitchen, however after hooking it up it will not turn on, power appears to be travelling through the circuit but the lights will not go on. I am not an electrician so please try to use laymens terms for ease. If I didn't include any information I will try my best to provide the most appropriate info as possible. I have attached pictures with explanations of my situation. :'( I am stuck and am seeking any help or advice with this problem. I have now replaced all my outlets and switches and mostly all my light fixtures except for one.
